Meditation Evening

Each month we run an evening session of meditation with Alan Campbell.  Alan’s aim for the session is to explore Meditation through a brief introduction and discussion, some simple movement to prepare for the practice, some relaxation work, and then a seated meditation – all fully guided and supported.

As Alan explains; Meditation arises in the gaps between out thoughts. Our goal in meditation is to extend these gaps into prolonged periods of stillness.  Relaxation and breath awareness are key elements in helping us achieve this.’  "Meditation is not a way of making the mind quiet. It’s a way of entering the quiet that’s already there – buried under the 50,000 thoughts the average person thinks every day”.  Deepak Chopra.
Alan has practised yoga and meditation for over 40 years, initially learning from books and long playing records.  After taking early retirement from nursing he was able to practice Tai Chi for 5 years, during which time he was introduced to Dru yoga.  He then completed his Dru yoga teacher training in 2013 and Dru meditation teacher training in 2017, both courses taking over 2 years each.  Alan has since studied and practiced Reiki to master practitioner level which he finds has enhanced his daily meditation practice.  He practices yoga, Reiki, and meditates for up to 60 minutes each day.   For Alan, a day without yoga/meditation/Reiki is a missed opportunity.
This is a wonderful opportunity to develop your own meditation practice.  The sessions run on the last Thursday evening each month.  If you are interesting in attending a session, plase contact us by telephone or by emailing
